Finello is a personal finance management app designed to streamline the way users manage their finances by consolidating their financial accounts, expenses, investments, and bills in one place. The aim was to provide users with actionable insights that improve their financial decision-making, while also addressing the complexities of managing multiple financial apps. The project addressed common user frustrations, such as fragmented experiences, inefficiency in budgeting, and difficulty tracking expenses.

THE PROBLEM
Users were overwhelmed by the complexity of managing multiple apps for different financial tasks such as tracking expenses, monitoring investments, and paying bills. This fragmentation made it difficult for users to budget effectively and stay on top of their financial health.

DESIGN PROCESS
The design process began with extensive market research, examining the strengths and weaknesses of existing financial apps. This led to the identification of key pain points, such as difficulty in navigating multiple accounts and confusion around transaction tracking. Early sketches and wireframes focused on simplifying the navigation by placing all major financial tasks—like expense tracking, bill payments, and investment management—in a bottom navigation bar for easy access.

The visual design was kept minimal yet engaging. A sans-serif typeface was used to reflect simplicity, while the color palette balanced trust with modernity, making the app feel reliable but approachable. The bold typeface used in the logo, and throughout the app, added clarity without overwhelming the user experience. High-fidelity prototypes were developed, with an emphasis on simplicity, leveraging a minimalist UI design using a modern color palette to balance trustworthiness with innovation. The logo design itself, with its bold "N" and dot resembling a percentage symbol, was crafted to reflect the app’s focus on finance in a visually intuitive way.

To validate the design, a high-fidelity prototype was created and tested with two users. Their feedback highlighted that the app was intuitive and useful. One user suggested adding the bank logo to each transaction for clearer tracking, while another recommended personalizing the app by addressing the user by name. Both suggestions were implemented, adding a personalized touch and increased transparency.
